Cotton Mill Restaurant and Bar is a new restaurant that will undoubtedly blossom in a building grown from very old roots.  The building was originally a cotton mill in the early part of the 20th century and has lovingly been restored in the hopes that new memories will be made in this establishment that has survived over 55 years.

After already graciously giving a local family a place to stay for free after the tragic loss of their house by fire, they are now holding a Lunch Fundraiser in the family's name. Donations will be accepted to fund the Hernandez Family's continued stay at the Fieldhouse Inn until they are able to find a more permanent, new home. The local hotel is already giving the family the most discounted rate possible, only charging $40 a night for the cost of house-keeping, so donations are bound to go a long way. The menu of the Hernandez Lunch Benefit includes chicken spaghetti, corn, salad, garlic bread and even cake. Each lunch can be purchased for $8 and additional donations will be welcomed with open arms. Mark your calendars for a good cause set to happen on the afternoon of August 15th.

Any extra donations for the family in need can be dropped off at the Kenedy Chamber to 205 South 2nd St.

Here's a message from the Dance Instructor herseld, Mallorie Howe:

"Hello Everyone! I’m happy to announce that BigFoot is back with our first ever dance clinic on Saturday, October 24th! Let’s kick off this holiday season with a whole lot of fun, food, and frolic! Like the summer, our clinics will be categorized by age, but we will not be holding different classes. Instead, every clinic will have its own theme and every age group will be taught a dance that relates to this theme! For instance, because it is October, this clinic’s theme will be our Halloween SPOOKtacular and it will feature dances to songs like Thriller and the Monster Mash! Everyone will be allowed to dress up if they dare!

    Here are the details:

    ·        2:30- 3:40- Mini Mummies (ages 4-6)

    ·        4:00-5:10- Twitches (ages 7-12)

    ·        5:30-6:40- Zesty Zombies (ages 13-18)

    ·        7:00-8:10- Vanishing Vampires (ages 17+) *please note this is our adult Yoga/Pilates class

The fee is $15 for all age groups.

Space is limited; please register ahead of time to ensure your space!

Walk INS will be allowed, if space is available.

*for those that register ahead of time, their child will receive a special gift.

To register please email me to reserve your space! Please note that the fee must be paid on the day of the clinic.

I hope to see you all there! Please help get the word out! I can’t wait to see everyone again! Thank you!

    Yours in Dance,

    Mallorie Howe

I will send out a reminder for each dance day!

The four days will feature a variety of dance genres. This is a great opportunity to allow students to try different types of dance!  I really encourage students to explore the different techniques and skills that each dance style has to offer!

Ages 4-6: Throughout the four weeks, we will be combining different genres of dance in each class. It will be somewhat like a mash-up class. We will be incorporating moves from jazz, ballet, hip-hop, and possibly even lyrical!  This is going to be a blast and I can’t wait!

    Ages 7-12:

Saturday December 19th- We will be focusing on Hip-Hop.

Saturday January 2nd- We will focus on Ballet.

Saturday January 9th- We will focus on Jazz.

Saturday January 16th- We will focus on Lyrical/ Contemporary

    Ages 13- 18:

    1. Kelsey Yeater

There is not going to be security. Although, we will have to police patrolling every hour throughout the night. The streets are going to be blocked off, there shouldn’t be any trouble.
